The City’s Garden

our Origin Story…..

The community garden at Los Angeles City College (City’s Garden) was initially conceived as a campus club by by members of the Re/Generation club and their advisor, Professor Sean Phommasaysy. In 2020, with donations from Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and support from LACC President Mary Gallagher, the club has since transformed into a thriving community garden that serves the LACC family and its surrounding community.

While fulfilling many functions and purposes, one of the primary goals of the City’s Garden is to provide fresh organic produce to students and anyone who lack access to these essential foods. The garden is also a sanctuary and safe space for those who seek mental well-being and tranquility. For those seeking knowledge, the monthly events and activities at the garden is a source for all things botanical.
